was wondering if it would be possible to add the ability to upgrade larger sections of roads or train tracks. just thought that feature might be quite nice?!

Especially for the train tracks, that would be nice yes
Have you tried click and hold on the first segment, then moving the cursor over the other segments you want to upgrade? It’s not perfect, but it is definitely faster than clicking each one at a time.
yes I have. that works, but then you have to follow the track all the way from one side the map, to the other, and god forbid you miss one! I was talking more about click this track and then click another track on the other side of the map, then upgrade everything in the middle

That would be nice. I don’t recall seeing anything in the UI that supports multi-select like that, so I suspect it won’t happen.
