Basket for Raw Food can store up to 10 raw food.
Colonists have 40 raw food.
I think you need 4, but 1 is enough.
Same for other resources
I don’t think the storage capacity is meaningful in the current game specifications.

You get some default storage for free in the beginning. You don’t need to build storage at first.
