Is it possible to make sure that a forest does not regrow please?
I wish I had more room to build houses.

If you build over an area that has had its trees and stumps removed the trees will not regrow - though obviously if you wait too long to build a tree sapling appears 
I usually plan ahead and stockpile the required wood and stone for the building before clearing the stumps, and lay out the floor straight away - this should stop any regrowth.
You can also remove any stumps then wait for the saplings to regrow, then click Remove on the saplings, and once removed, the trees will be gone permanently
