I placed the freight elevator very close to an uranium hill so it showed me the too steep error.
Then moving the lower station made the whole structure disapear and the input was in a weird state.
I was able to save and restart the game but the freight elevator was gone.
Now I placed the elevator on the 90deg grid instead of the 45deg and it worked:
