Microsoft has found a number of graphic problems since March 2021 due to some of their security updates causing conflicts in a number of different games…

“In our test, we observed that these issues are not tied to specific hardware configurations and users complained of unstable framerates, stutter, and even movement lags when playing games… This bug has been reported in March, April, May and June 2021 security updates.”
So if you are experiencing graphic problems you may need to update to:
Windows 10 KB5003690 (21H1 or 20H2)
To check your computer:
- Right click on the ‘Start’ button
- Open Settings > Update & Security.
- Click on Windows Update.
- Select Check for Updates.
If the update is ready for your PC, you will see an ‘Optional quality update available’ message appear under Optional Updates. You can begin downloading this patch by clicking ‘Download and install’.
One of these “not essential” updates is actually for some of the graphic problems - so update everything Microsoft related.
Warning: before applying this patch, make sure that you’ve unchecked all drivers to avoid any potential issues.
