I had a child who got inspired, did collect the resources, did the work, but then drinking beer was needed for to proceed, but a child can not drink beer, so it all failed.

I see. This has actually already been reported and I fixed it with the latest release. Current quests might still be bugged, but the game won’t generate masterpiece quests for children anymore.
