Greeting Dear Developers!
While I know the latest build is 3.0.6. I got pretty lucky with map generation so I stayed on 3.0.4. a few hours and built my settlement in that version. Hope there haven’t been any dramatic changes between the builds (couldn’t find patch notes?) Anyway here goes:
- Sleep:
Not a huge fan that my character has to sleep and loses item if he doesn’t make it back home.
Will there be a bedroll you can craft/research that you can take with you when exploring the island?
- Markers:
I like markes you can place on the map to find things like berry bushes or honey faster.
Will it be possible to mark things on the map or will ressources show up on the map in later builds? What about an indicator on the map which direction my character is facing?

Twigs and rocks
Just a very minor thing. I tried to pick the small rocks and twigs up, was sad when I couldn’t. -
Zones
I feel like there are too many of them and they are annoying to place.
The brush you place them with is too small and if you move too far out you create a new zone all of the sudden.
„Forester“ zones become obsolete when you run out of trees/stones and then need to be removed manually.
The job system in Founders Fortune was way better. Why not three zones: Home (idle), Work (crafters) and Gather (Mine, cut trees, gather berries) Alternatives: A „reforestation“ research, so you’ed have to set only one zone for cutting trees and once they’re all gone, the citizen assigned to the plot will replant new trees. Alternative II: Place a sign, select „delete zone“ and the whole zone is gone.

Building the base
Right now it’s tempting to solo build everything and not even bother recruiting more people. Why not let my character only place certain things and for complex furniture (tables, deco etc.) you would instead just place down a blueprint that only a citizen can interact with. So let’s say you want to build a bed, you decide where and what bed you want in your home, but then the carpenter in your town builds and places it for you (No idea if that’s even possible to implement though) -
Replace walls
Again a minor thing, but I would love to be able to replace wooden with stone walls without breaking those first. -
Copper
They can mine stone just fine, but not copper for some reason -
Packlings
I’m probably doing this wrong, but I currently have Packling A bring Barley to Packling B inside the mill and have Packling C bring the bread to Packling D so the food never runs out …
Why can’t I have a warehouse where Packling A gets his intructions from Colonist A that works there and tells Packling A to do all those things in one single run?
To be continued … (just unlocked the research books that require copper)
