I had flooring on my 2nd floor, I wanted to update it to a bit newer flooring, now it tells me I can’t lay flooring on 2nd floor for its not above a room. Which it is. Don’t know what to do now. Any help would be appreciated, or fixing it would be appreciated.

One thing to check is if the room below it got broken somehow. Maybe during a goblin attack the room lost a wall? Check that the walls are all there so the room is closed.
Occasionally players mix up the floors. Make sure that you’re exactly 1 floor above the room which you want to build on.
