Just throwing it out there, and I’m still early game so I have no idea just how important this could be moving forward, but blueprints are a feature in many similar games and might work for some aspects of this?

Definitely needed 
After playing since release and building so many cities, a blueprint system is a must! I’d even do the extra red research for it lol
