What the point of this thing? There nothing in the game that uses the item, which makes science and other factorys useless once you maxed out research. Not to mention the resources needed to run this thing almost dbl that of running a city 40-50k pop.

The adamantine drill is the current endgame. You can see how much adamantine you can mine as a sort of “high score” if you want. Or you can max out population.
Why not use the resource with the spacecraft in some way? Just an idea.

like sagon said, perhaps adamantine could be used for the spacecraft in some way
I just assumed that it will be important once they role out a few more end game items. Or to power the ship back home.
