Greetings
I gave away my age group in the introductory page, for those who care to know, so my gaming history started with Sinclair zx80 and 81, all the Sinclair spectrum versions (almost) and a lesser know Sinclair QL, you could actually see colour in each pixel with the QL! Later I moved on to the Atari Amiga 500, and since then it’s been pc and windows, starting with Dos3, then Win98, Win XP, and currently 2 Win 7 systems, and soon I will have to move on to Win 10.
Gaming wise, I play or have played, most genres’, favorites like this game or a bit similar, include the Settlers series, Banished, Ostriv, Space Colony (Old classic in my book, quite different though), The early Command and Conquer games including Tiberian Sun. (Not the same, but in an AI open map, you kind of build a colony and gather some resources. Factorio, kind of have to add that, there is your colony, and it is a bit different for those who don’t know
, another little gem, I had to edit this in, would be ‘They Are Billions’ but don’t expect to relax playing that one.
Other old faves include the Homeworld series of games, and the early X series of space games by Egosoft (X terran Wars!, anyone). In that vein and more recently a great little number and Indie game ‘Avorion’ space fleet and, semi empire building game, with interesting physics!
Minecraft has stolen a lot of my time especially the early versions, though I kind left it at v1.8, but other voxel based games since the release of mincraft that got my attention include, Space Engineer, Empyrion and 7 days to die, if you like open world, and terrain changing, building and survival, and havn’t played them yet, have a look and see!
Years ago, I played too much World of Warcraft, lots of fun though, as at the time up 6 neighbors would team up, along with a small guild we started, I ended up helping to run it, until it got a bit too much like another job to manage, and folk and myself moved on of course.
I have also worked in early 2d CAD, digital mapping and later 2d CAD engineering drawings, and since then spent some time on various college courses with graphics and computing in mind, and currently I do some part time IT support, but I’m also keen to have a play with 3d models and maybe later some animation, early days at this time. I need to stop consuming and start creating !!
Well that is, once again likely too much info, and scratches the surface of my memory in gaming, I didn’t mention all the city builders, and simulation types, or a list of adventure games (‘Grim Fandango’, if you don’t know it have a peep), and all the odd quirky ones. But there we are.
Thanks for reading, if you made it this far.
Catch you in the forum, message me if need be, and if I can help I will…
Cheers
